About the Role:
We’re looking for an experienced IT support officer to join the team. In this role, you’ll work onsite supporting schools across South East Melbourne suburbs. You will be responsible for IT support to staff and sudents ensuring smooth operation of the school’s technology systems.
About You:
This role is ideal for someone with basic IT knowledge, a willingness to learn, and a strong customer service focus.
You’ll bring:
A basic understanding and enthusiasm for computing
Some experience supporting Microsoft applications including Office 365
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies
A valid driver’s licence and reliable vehicle.
And it won’t hurt if you also have:
Previous experience in a school or educational environment
Knowledge of basic networking and IT concepts (e.g., Networks, Wi-Fi)
Experience with helpdesk or ticketing systems.
Your responsibilities:
Provide first-level technical support for hardware, software, and network issues
Respond to helpdesk tickets, emails, and walk-up requests in a timely and professional manner
Set up and maintain student and staff devices (e.g., laptops, desktops, tablets)
Monitor printing consumables and maintain printer infrastructure
Assist with classroom technology (e.g., projectors, ViVi’s, audio visual support)
Repair laptops
Support user account management (e.g., password resets, access permissions)
Perform basic troubleshooting including internet and Wi-Fi connectivity issues
Maintain accurate records of support requests and resolutions
Escalate complex issues to senior IT staff as required
Perform routine checks and updates on school devices
Assist with IT asset inventory and documentation
Provide support during school events and exams as needed.
Your qualifications:
Completion of or working towards a Certificate III or IV in Information Technology (or equivalent)
Current Working with Children Check (or ability to obtain)
Police Check (or ability to obtain).
